Atrocities
of War
There is always an
alternative
To this dangerous
game
War is unforgettable
And it’s hard to
decipher who’s to blame
War is brought about
By the struggle for
power
Causing nations to
rip apart
And relationships to
sour
It comes from the
tragic obsession
Of controlling
another’s life
And brings with it
mass confusion
Hostility and
strife
Strategies target
the women, the children
The weak and the
poor
More civilians are
killed than soldiers
Guess it’s all a
part of war
But it doesn’t have
to be
Violence can be
prevented
Nations can make a
compromise
And governments can
be mended
Potential for
violence can be defused
Through early
political measures
But conflict needs
to be recognized
Before all
opportunities are severed
There are serious
consequences
To this urge for a
victory
Lives are lost and
dollars are cost
All for a little
superiority
We should take the
road less traveled by
And make a peaceful
solution
To prove we do not
need to kill
On the way to a
resolution
